Investment Board

The Fund is governed by five Investment Board business professionals from northeast Wisconsin who advise the General Partner on Fund investments and management matters.  The Investment Board assists in transactional due diligence and may serve as consultants or directors of portfolio companies.  Each Investment Board member is a limited partner in the Fund. 

Charlie Goff

Mr. Goff serves as the President of NEW Capital Management, Inc which is the General Partner of NEW Capital Fund,LP. The General Partner’s responsibilities include coordinating the activities of the Fund, managing the Fund’s operations and finances, promoting the Fund to stimulate deal flow, and providing support and interface for the Fund’s Limited Partners and portfolio companies.

Over his career, Mr. Goff has founded, grown, and sold numerous entrepreneurial companies, including Forward Enterprises, Inc.   At the time of sale, Forward Enterprises had five locations in three states, and 75 employees.  Mr. Goff graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a degree in Math and Computer Science and from UW-Madison with a Masters Degree in Business Administration

Mr. Goff currently serves on the Board of Directors of Azco, Inc.; Frozen Codebase LLC; Keller, Inc.;  and Renovar, Inc.; Aurizon Ultrasonics; and the Appleton YMCA

Jason Smith

Jason SmithJason is experienced in providing guidance and establishing networks in the private equity and venture capital arenas for the Peak Ridge Capital Group. His work focuses primarily in the Midwestern United States and has allowed him to develop working relationships with venture capital firms, numerous angel networks, university, industry and institutional professionals to provide Peak Ridge's clients with opportunities for mergers, acquisitions and strategic alliances. Mr. Smith has served on and provides services to boards of directors of a number of companies. Currently, Jason is a partner in Peak Ridge’s Midwest VC Fund and also provides services to a Wisconsin venture capital fund focusing on seed and early stage investments.

In addition to his business endeavors, Jason is very active in Wisconsin’s capital city, Madison. He has served on his local government's Economic Strategies Committee, acted as a judge for the Annual Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest, and is also active in nonprofit community organizations, including the East Madison Community Center, of which he is their Capital Campaign Chairperson. While Madison provides ample investment opportunities by virtue of having a top-tier university that receives the 2nd highest level of federal government research funding, the Madison office is also centrally located within 2 hours of Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Milwaukee ensuring exposure to virtually all key opportunities in the Midwest.

Prior to joining Peak Ridge Capital, Jason was an attorney with a prominent business law firm in Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated with honors from the New England School of Law, was published in the school’s academic Journal, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
